Background:
This Department plays a unique role in the financial regulation industry. Even with a decade of industry experience, new hires have a steep learning curve when they are hired into the Enforcement Department. There is usually anywhere between 0-5 new hires a week.
Design Thinking:
With a copious amount of training during a new hire’s onboarding plan already, the department wanted a quick and easily repeatable way for new hires to understand the department they just joined.
I created a short Enforcement Department Overview course to introduce new hires to the department. It provides an understanding of who makes up the 400 staff department, what the department does, and how the department does it. Below is a screenshot of how the course sections and subsections were broken down and one of the subsection pages. I decided to add an audio clip from a recent podcast episode of the newly appointed Head of Enforcement that speaks to the department’s priorities well.
The course provided a quick and clear understanding of the department the new hire recently joined including their role in helping achieve the company and department’s mission and goals.
